While the reporting location is the Houston Service Center, this is a remote position with extensive travel (up to 100%).


Supervises and provides project execution for the installation, commissioning, overhaul and troubleshooting of Elliott and non-Elliott equipment at customer sites.


Assists in the planning and estimating of projects in conjunction with the Project Manager. Works on any project, including the largest and most complex.





  • Aids in the supervision of staff (Elliott, customer and contracted) at customer sites, providing technical expertise and advice on jobs.
  • Quotes jobs and assists with invoicing content and business decisions affecting profitability.
  • Manages complex packages and contracts; investigates problems, customer complaints and disputes; reaches conclusions; and sells solutions both to customer and within Elliott.
  • Performs hazard identification and mitigation for all tasks being performed as part of job responsibilities.
  • Manages effective field service reporting to assure proper feedback of product or contact trouble to enable finding the root cause and the correction and elimination of problems.
  • Provides support to all department and company activities as directed by Field Service Operations management.
  • Interacts with others requiring social skills and the ability to understand and influence using data and logic.
  • Directs the activities of colleagues, customer personnel and contract personnel.
  • Demonstrates and exhibits superior tact and reasoning skills as necessary to handle significant contact with customers, vendors and subcontractors in the customer’s workplace.


  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience or equivalent of 10 years of industry or engineering experience.
  • Advanced understanding of industry related standards, as well as systems processes encountered in heavy industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of industrial gas turbine / generator product specifications and features including design/manufacturing principles, as well as those of similar equipment.
  • Specific knowledge of the following models: GE 6B and 7EA gas and steam turbines; high pressure steam turbine generators, and associated auxiliary equipment.
  • Must have knowledge of major and minor overhauls and inspections based upon runtime hours, emergency call-outs, scheduled and unscheduled turnarounds and/or outages.
  • Strong mechanical, thermodynamic aptitude for rotating machinery, as well as commercial aptitude.
  • Experienced in project management.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, technical documentation, blueprints, layouts and schedules.
  • Ability to write technical documents.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Computer skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, Projects, PowerPoint; Lotus Notes.
