Overview

 

 

This position directs, monitors, and coordinates the efficient utilization of Human Resources policies & practices for the Americas Service Center organizations, including the Latin America Region, to ensure achievement of business goals.  It assists operating management in the interpretation and application of existing human resource policies, applicable country, federal & state regulations, and applicable labor agreements. It provides functional guidance of HR practices to assist site leadership in meeting business objectives.

 

Travel requirements are typically 30% to 40%, domestic and international, but may vary based on situations and need.

 

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Works with business unit leadership to identify and plan for human resources requirements in all of the assigned populations to meet short and long term business needs. Supports and provides input into the development and implementation of programs and approaches to assist in meeting business unit goals and objectives.
  • Supports development and execution of employee development plan aligned within global and regional business objectives – organizational design, succession planning, talent management, high potential identification, etc.
  • Identifies and implements performance management and training, to ensure locations have the talent necessary to achieve their short-term and long-term business objectives.
  • Participates in the committee and consults during the contract negotiation process at applicable locations. Represents the Company in grievance meetings and labor arbitrations. Provides counsel to management concerning labor relations issues.
  • Recruits, interviews and assists in selection of candidates for open position when requested by operating managers. Supports employment process to ensure a talented & diverse applicant pool.
  • Strives to maintain union-free status at non-union facilities.
  • Identifies and recommends internal communication opportunities to recognize the business unit and individual employee accomplishments & successes.
  • Researches, recommends and directs the implementation of new and revised ongoing employee relations programs directed at creating and maintaining a positive and motivated employee population.
  • Represents the Company at various federal and state agency proceedings, such as EEOC, OSHA, Workers’ Compensation Boards and Unemployment hearings as necessary.
  • Designs, implements and administers human resources policies as requested or required. Instructs, advises and assists various operating managers in the administration of established policies.
  • Assists with benefits administration throughout the Service Center network.
  • Performs other duties as required or requested. 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Five (5) years of working experience as an HR generalist in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ labor relations and contract negotiation experience is preferred.
  • Bi-lingual, English and Spanish or Portuguese is a plus.
