Prior to contract signature, this position reviews, coordinates, administers and resolves all commercial contractual terms and conditions of sale and purchase for all product lines and business units in line with corporate policies in order to minimize legal and financial exposure to the organization. This position typically negotiates terms and conditions on jobs of $50 to $100 million dollars in geopolitical locations around the globe.


  • Negotiate contracts with the most favorable conditions to minimize the risk of losses to the organization, while maintaining good relationships with our customers.
  • Administer Corporate Policies and Procedures regarding contracts. This includes educating sales force / agents with respect to the same.
  • Develop strategies for the review and resolution of sales contract language in line with Corporate Risk Management Policies.
  • Coordinate and create long-term contractual agreements with current and potential customers to enhance order activity.
  • Activities are covered by specific broad policies, but the position often requires recognizing and resolving unusual contractual requirements which might, if unresolved, pose serious risks to the organization.
  • Maintain contract law knowledge and negotiation skills through continuing education.


  • J.D. or other law degree is preferred. Alternatively, Bachelor’s degree or MBA in Business or related disciplines with experience in commercial contracts and/or contract law would be required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience crafting contract structure and terminology as well as resolving points of conflict.
  • A background in both domestic and international contract negotiation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Decisive and possess strong negotiation skills.
  • Skills and abilities to negotiate with Corporate Officers and Attorneys.
  • Fluency in English required; knowledge of non-US contract law beneficial.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams during negotiations.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities.
  • Industrial and/or manufacturing experience preferred.
