Purchasing / Inventory Control


Support planning and scheduling by updating schedules, files and work scopes in the assigned manufacturing area.  Assist in coordinating inventory demands and suggestions. 


  • Provide general administrative and clerical support for the assigned manufacturing area.
  • Running weekly reports for inventory suggestions and active jobs using reports from an ERP system
  • Maintaining accurate data files on an ongoing basis.
  • Utilization of standardized templates for creating work scopes through the ERP system.
  • Assist in yearly physical and as needed inventory counts.
  • Follow up with different departments for resources on an ongoing basis to keep management and planning up to date.
  • Administrative and clerical support for management and planning.
  • Manage data files for use in tracking jobs and materials.
  • Update templates and bill of materials in an ERP system.
  • Coordinate with engineering and planning to maintain timeliness and accuracy of jobs and bills of material.
  • Review ERP material suggestions and create internal work scopes to satisfy demand and ensure inventory levels are kept at an optimal level.
  • Coordinate with management and planning on order exceptions by analyzing customer requirements.
  • Entering purchase orders into an ERP system to create work scopes utilizing standardized templates.
  • Review and submit work scopes for invoicing.
  • Maintain purchasing tracking for active jobs.
  • Coordinate with other departments for resources as required.
  • Update and post floor schedules as requested.
  • Answering phones as needed.
  • Assist management and planning as needed.
  • Complete warranty authorizations when required for the accounting department.
  • Special projects as required.


  • Associates Degree or 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong computer knowledge and able to learn new software easily; ERP experience is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work with different departments on an ongoing basis
  • Must be able to understand basic mechanical drawings and sketches
  • Very detailed oriented with the ability to manage several projects at a time
  • Must be flexible and able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Experience with bill of materials and knowledge of manufacturing processes preferred.
