Overview

The Payroll Administrator will primarily be responsible for payroll processing and associated tasks. The administrator will possess the ability to perform necessary payroll, payroll tax, research and accounting functions.   An ideal candidate will have knowledge of payroll and tax laws and be able to independently analyze and use judgment.  The position has daily contact with confidential information.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of time worked inputs for submission to ADP
  • Review time worked inputs for calculating, coding or other errors
  • Verify employee data is entered correctly into the payroll system
  • Enter elective employee level deductions in the payroll system
  • Perform reconciliation of payroll and payroll taxes on a pay period basis
  • Reconcile and journalize payroll entries
  • Research employee pay check issues
  • Work with Payroll vendor

 

Interaction with Others:

 

Internally will consist of Corporate Finance, Human Resources and employees

Externally will consist of ADP vendor and legal courts

 

Qualifications

Required:

 

  • Associate degree with 3 + years’ work experience; equivalent experience will be considered
  • Experience using an automated Payroll system
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented with time management skills

 

Preferred:

 

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting
  • Experience with timekeeping systems
  • Workday, ADP or Ceridian payroll systems
  • Experience with multi state payrolls laws and taxability
  • Experience with the preparation of required payroll tax forms
