Elliott Company seeks a Project Engineer EP to work at our Jeannette, PA, office and serve as the primary interface for the client for technical issues regarding their purchase of equipment and auxiliary systems.
Will act as principal technical contact between Elliott and Purchaser. Primary functions include interpretation of specifications and technical requirements as well as defining and analyzing on skid and interconnecting piping and design.
Must have a bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering plus two (2) years of post-baccalaureate and progressively responsible experience in a related position.
Experience must include: (i) piping design (including equipment layout, piping layouts, pipe sizing, pipe supports, pipe stress analysis and pipe material selection) and applicable standards (such as ANSI B31.1, B31.3, B16.5, B16.47, API RP520, Parts I & II and API RP521 ); (ii) defining engineering and design of piping standards and procedures; (iii) pipe/pipe support analysis software (such as Caepipe / Ceaser II) and interpreting information provided from analysis; (iv) working with single and multi-valve multi-stage steam turbines from 3,000 hp - 93,870 hp/2,000 psi with speeds of 2,500 to 15,000 rpm; (v) Electrical Motors with horsepower ranging from 600 hp and above; (vi) speed increasing gearboxes capable to support power outputs of the selected motor drive; (vii) compressor anti-surge control systems; (viii) oil lubrication systems with flow rates from 2 GPM to 1,600 GPM with Pressures ranging from 5 psi to 4350 psi and pipe diameter of ½” and above; (ix) single stage and multi-stage centrifugal compressors from 10” to 110” diameter that range from 10 psig to over 8,500+ psig; (x) managing sub-suppliers as well as providing quality customer service and support; and (xi) working with industry related standards (e.g., API 617, API 614, API 612, etc.) as well as other codes and standards frequently used in the petroleum and petrochemical industries and customer processes (e.g., FCC, LNG, Ethylene, etc.).
