  • Overview

    The Projects Financial Analyst collects and updates cost data from quote to booking to completion of order.  Maintains cost databases and tracking files.  Investigates and analyzes product costs.  Assists in the preparation of percentage-of-completion accounting.

     

    The position will require frequent contact with all departments within the company, particularly with (but not limited to) Commercial Operations, Cost Management, Project Management, Manufacturing, Engineering and Finance.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for tasks from the order process to creating and maintaining cost tracking files and reporting.
    • Analyzes cost data to verify accuracy and reasonableness.
    • Maintains cost databases used for quote preparation.
    • Performs regular updates for Projects using Oracle cost data in cost tracking files including Order Record Changes (ORC's), Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) changes, manufacturing changes, etc.
    • Verifies booking values and creates the 331 Booking Form.
    • Supports percentage-of-completion accounting by creating/posting journal entries and performing reconciliations.
    • Support/backup for project pending close and monthly close tasks.
    • Support/backup for running Oracle Projects processes.
    • Prepares and issues various reports to management.

     

    Qualifications

     

    • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or Business and at least two years of related work experience.
    • Advanced computing skills with high level experience in Excel.
    • Superior analytical skills, detail oriented.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills as this position interacts with all departments and all levels of management.
    • Understanding of POC accounting methods and financial, manufacturing, and project-based organizations preferred.
    • Experience in an engineered product manufacturing environment preferred.
