  • Overview

    This position is responsible for complex R & D projects involving multiple products and services related to turbomachinery. Leads a diverse team of experts to develop project plan activities and budgets.  This position is primarily responsible for Project Plan Development as well as Project Execution.

     

    Minimal domestic and international travel (typically Elliott locations and trade shows).

    Responsibilities

    • Creates and manages schedules for multiple projects with a focus on new product development, coordinating with the Master Schedule.
    • Completes monthly status reports, presenting to various levels of management.
    • Monitors the overall project schedule and budget to coordinate appropriate corrective action if required.
    • Manages all engineering, drafting, purchasing, and manufacturing and service activities to ensure completion of all requirements.
    • Interacts with others requiring social skills and the ability to understand and influence using data and logic.
    • Directs the activities of colleagues/partners across many departments.
    • Has significant contact with vendors and subcontractors with backgrounds in operations, engineering, supervision, and purchasing.
    • Develops plans that integrate the work of diverse groups.
    • Works independently, receiving minimal direction.
    • Exercises significant discretion when choosing alternatives in planning projects or making decisions to maintain schedules.
    • Keep up with current technologies and processes through publications, trade shows, professional associations, etc.
    • Responsible to lead Design and FMEA reviews.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, or similar discipline).
    • Minimum of five (5) years’ turbomachinery engineering experience.
    • Previous experience leading cross-functional teams preferred.
    • Deep knowledge of engineering/design principles as related to turbomachinery.
    • Advanced understanding of industry related standards.
    • Experience with MS Projects, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
