  • Overview

    The Financial Analyst prepares a wide variety of financial and business analyses for financial and general management. The analyses must include assessments, observations, recommendations and summaries to assist management in taking appropriate actions.  Directs, coordinates and consolidates the corporate forecast, outlook and five-year plan.


    This position primarily supports the Field Service group, requiring extensive contacts within the Finance Department as well as with sales, field service operations, and contract administration. The Analyst must, therefore, possess well developed interpersonal skills and the ability to handle conflict situations.


    Domestic and international travel is estimated at once per quarter.



    • Develops and maintains financial models for the consolidation of the corporate wide monthly forecasts and annual financial, capital, and strategic plans.
    • Analyzes, interprets and makes recommendations with regard to operating results compared to forecasts, financial plans and budgets.
    • Schedules and coordinates the forecasting process.  This involves approximately 25 people.
    • Manages the process to ensure that due dates are met.
    • Develops financial models for use in the analysis process.
    • Develops and implements improved computerized methods for manipulating and analyzing data.
    • Becomes versatile in most areas of financial planning and analysis such that any segment of an overall objective may be assigned and satisfactorily performed.
    • Develops plan and forecast allocations (interest, G & A, amortization and LIFO) with the Finance Department and the business units.
    • Continually improves the forecasting and planning process.
    • Develops and prepares ad hoc reports to respond to executive management.
    • Prepares government reports.



    • Bachelor degree in any business or analytical field. MBA and/or CPA is desirable.
    • Minimum of five years’ professional work experience.
    • Familiar with accounting principles as applied to profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements and capital expenditure evaluations.
    • Well-developed analytical skills and communicative ability are essential.
    • Computer skills with proficiency in Excel.
