  • Overview

    Provides technical assistance and knowledge to various departments pertaining to design, schedule, and application. Performs engineering analysis, project assignments, design review, and testing that requires judgement in the application of standard technique and procedures and the use of gained experience to evaluate the results and make recommendation.


    Travel is estimated at up to 10%; domestic and international (Elliott locations or customer locations for meetings).


    • Provide technical support and recommendations to Drafting, Manufacturing, Marketing, Application, Sales and Service.
    • Initiate and develop designs for new products, special application, and existing products.
    • Planning, organizing, and performing projects as stated by technical plan and supervision.
    • Provide and advise technical information and follow up with other departments on the selection, specifications, construction, assembly, quality, tooling, test performance, scrap, salvage, cost and design compatibility, etc. of assigned engineering activity to insure conformance to design and quality standards.
    • Initiate and suggest new methods /improvements over past practices.
    • Review and approve layouts and detail drawings, issue purchase requisitions, and update supervision of activity status.
    • Constantly keep updated on new technology pertaining to turbo machinery and current developments made by competition.
    • Make judgement decisions on deviated parts in manufacturing.
    • Provide technical assistance to Manufacturing regarding the tooling and machining practices of a particular part.
    • Develop computer programs for miscellaneous engineering tasks.
    • Provide technical assistance and knowledge to service shop personnel and management.


    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Process, or similar discipline).
    • Four (4) years of experience as an Engineer is required; experience with turbo machinery / rotating equipment preferred.
    • Strong mathematical and communication skills.
