  • Overview

    The purpose of this position is to provide service excellence for the Cryodynamics Product (Cryo) line customers through the completion of quotes and orders for Cryo spare parts.  The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for building relationships to make Elliott the preferred parts vendor for our customers.

     

     Emergency and after-hours phone coverage on a rotational basis may be required. Occasional travel to field locations for specific service parts sales functions.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide total customer satisfaction.
    • Accountable for customer orders "from cradle to grave" meaning from RFQ, to order entry, to shipment of order.
    • Confirm that all parts are sourced in a timely manner by department's operations team, assist the shipping department by obtaining shipping instructions, and provide tracking information to customer when order ships.
    • Responsible for accurate part identification for the customer.
    • Submit high dollar order to Contract Department and assist to negotiate agree to terms and conditions of orders.
    • Initiate research into cost, selling price, standard and emergency lead-times, and part numbers on quotations and orders in response to customer inquiries.
    • Develop strong customer relationships, managing customer delivery, and providing best value solutions for customer needs.
    • Lead internal and external resources to ensure that orders are delivered on-time with the highest level of quality.
    • Consult with both internal and external customers to resolve problems, answer questions and address concerns while maintaining positive working relationships.
    • Total accountability for communication between the customer and all departments of Elliott Group, including but not limited to Accounting, Production, Inventory Control, Engineering, Drafting, Shipping, Sales and Marketing.
    • Assist with the negotiation process on pricing discounts with the assistance of the Sales Team, Pricing Team, and the Inside Sales Team leader.
    • Assist customers with basic parts requirements for normal apparatus maintenance.
    • Manage territory or accounts in tandem with outside sales to follow up on outstanding quotes and assist with upselling activities whenever possible.
    • Understand shipment terms on all orders.
    • Provide input on price agreements and price lists for customers in Team's territory.
    • Maintain integrity of customers’ Install Base records.
    • Knowledgeable on all customers in assigned territory including customer equipment, authorized purchasers, Sales Reps, authorized freight forwarders, scheduled turnarounds, Sales contacts, and yearly spend by customer.
    • Keep track of scheduled customer Turnarounds to ensure Service Parts has received RFQ's from the customer.
    • Learn about competitors involved at the quoting stage to enable Elliott to win more orders.
    • Participate in improvement projects within the Service Parts organization to improve the value that Elliott Group provides to its customer base.
    • Responsible for making day-to-day business decisions within the Service Parts organization.
    • Responsible for maintaining established profit margin on sales orders.
    • Coordinate Elliott Group technical manual and maintenance parts list updates as required.
    • Manage/update all CRM opportunities within their territory that are under $50k in value.
    • Assist with invoicing and collection efforts.
    • Maintain technical competence on Elliott equipment.
    • Manage the return materials process and customer credit practices in the Oracle ERP system.
    • Create accurate RMA and Credit Memo requests before submission to management for approval.
    • Monitor and compose periodic written reports for the Inside Sales Manager which reflect current trends and activities for both domestic and international part sales.
    • Promote a positive attitude for a safe and healthy work environment, as well as awareness for high quality products and services from the section in support of Elliott management initiatives.

     

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or similar discipline. Other disciplines may be considered with relevant technical experience.
    • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience; rotating equipment or other industrial experience is a plus.
    • Background in direct customer service, mechanical aptitude, computer skills and strong interpersonal skills. Phone skills are especially important.
    • Ability to read and interpret drawings, bills of materials, part structures and knowledge of industrial equipment.
    • Background in team oriented environments, a positive and professional attitude, an ability to change, a demonstrated ability to make decisions and a positive perspective regarding the work environment are important characteristics to be successful in this position.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence other departments and disciplines to work together and meet the needs of the customer.
