  • Overview

    To perform all the required layout, set-up, manual machining, subassembly, tool setting, deburring parts, broaching keyways, dimension checking, movement of parts materials and assemblies process in the YR Focused Factory.

    Responsibilities

    1. Obtain raw materials / parts from stock, drawings, tools, fixtures, templates targets and other materials as required.
    2. Works from and interpret prints, drawings, work lists, work orders books, short form manuscript, tool set-up sheets and bill of materials.
    3. Makes sketches as required.
    4. Verifies materials, drawings, routing sheets and tooling are in agreement with the work order book.
    5. Set up machines by installing and adjusting, tools, clamps, studs, tapes, adapting positioning or aligning fixtures, pallets, parts and sets proper speeds and feeds as required.

    7. Performs the machining or processing operations and verifies that the operation is complete.
    8. Performs assembly and disassembly operations installing appropriate hardware, etc., as required on component parts.
    9. Adjusts, changes, sharpens, or dresses tolls as required. May be required to machine various holding fixtures for component parts.
    10. Uses various tool setting equipment to preset and change tooling as required.
    11. Lays out castings, forgings, other raw materials, fabrications, machine parts, etc., with marks, lines center punches, etc., at the proper dimensions for angels, radii, tapers, bolt circles, machining lines, etc., using available and appropriate layout areas as required.
    12. Performs miscellaneous deburring operations independently and simultaneously with machining operations.
    13. Cleans, dries and preserves materials or parts after machining operations as required.
    14. Performs material handling functions using hoists, overhead cranes, fork lift trucks, etc., performing the necessary hooking and unhooking driving, etc., as required.
    15. Changes spray coat wire and gases as needed.
    16. Reports production count, time and identifying data as required.
    17. Performs routine preventative maintenance on machine and fills out check list as required.
    18. Maintains good housekeeping and lubricates when required.
    19. Reports defective parts, material and equipment to supervision.
    20. Performs dry blast operation as required.
    21. Stencils or stamps parts for identification.
    22. Verifies accuracy of measuring instruments using calibrated standards and using measuring instruments with current calibrations.
    23. Place parts of material in tote pans, bins or on pallets as required.
    24. Paints or identifies guidelines, dimension figures and instructions on material so following operations may be performed.
    25. Installs grinding wheels, adjusts wheel heights and dresses grinding wheels as required.
    26. Removes chips from machine to proper chip hopper.
    27. Adds replacement oils and coolants to machine reservoirs.
    28. Checks motor, brakes, steering, horn, etc., on motorized material handling equipment to assure proper safe operation.
    29. Follows safe work practices and observes all safety rules.
    30. Checks surface of material for any condition which may affect coating. Directs spray and periodically measures amount of coating.
    31. Selects proper wire as specified on detail drawings. Weighs and keeps record of amount of wire used.
    32. Sets up machine by installing wire, regulating pressure and wire feed.
