  • Overview

    To assemble and/or dismantle rotors, turbine disc and blade holders, shafts, sleeves, slingers, gears, couplings, etc., mainly by use of temperature differential or shrinking process.

    Responsibilities

    1. Receives instructions from supervision.
    2. Receives work to be assembled in work area.
    3. Works from assembly drawings.
    4. Selects and adjusts fixture and spacers.
    5. Heats or chills parts as necessary.
    6. Assembles or disassembles as specified.
    7. Drills, taps, reams for set screws or dowels.
    8. Cools or chills assemblies with air or water and checks dimensions.
    9. Determines number of heating torches and location of heat application.
    10. Reports production count, time and identifying data verbally to time keeper.

    Qualifications

    • Must be willing and able to work overtime and weekends.
    • Must be able and willing to work any shift.
    • Divisional testing required.
