    Travel averages 80-100%, on a job-site specific basis throughout the United States with some international travel.


    Under the direction of the Field Service Manager, the Field Service Representative provides after sales service. Performs and directs field service projects and related activities including the installation, overhaul and troubleshooting of Elliott and other OEM equipment and complex systems at customers’ sites, requiring a wide range of independent action and decision making.  Acts as group leader responsible for local purchasing activities in line with set procedures. Handles and coordinates technical issues of a project. Assures that work is carried out in accordance with the customer's expectations or specifications while ensuring that safety, environmental, and quality policies are adhered to. Produces service income for Elliott Company.


    • Plans, controls, and starts-up installation of new equipment for customers.
    • Acts as supervisor when overhauling or trouble shooting installations where equipment may be Elliott or Non-Elliott.
    • Schedules and allocates personnel and material to execute work scopes.
    • Conducts investigations of rotating equipment troubles and takes corrective action initiated independently or as directed by senior Elliott personnel.
    • Performs self-assessment of all assignments to establish improvements relating to the product, process, or quality system. May contribute new ideas to improve product design and appearance, enhance company service and eliminate troubles.
    • Provides assistance on rotating equipment training programs and participates in training and developing personnel.
    • Medium size projects of moderate to advanced complexity. Significant portions of large projects.
    • Thorough knowledge of Elliott product specifications and features.
    • Thorough understanding of organization’s financial objectives.
    • Able to forecast requirements, schedule expenditures, minimize costs and analyze variances.
    • Acts as primary Elliott representative while at customer site. Superior communication skills are necessary to develop and maintain positive relationship with customers and to provide direct supervision to their employees and sub-contractors.
    • Analyzes installation/repair problems and exercises independent judgment in taking corrective action and preventing the occurrence of any nonconformity relating to the product, process, and the quality system.
    • Directs the work of assigned labor force, which may be Elliott's own employees, customer supplied labor, or contractors.
    • Although some activities are covered by policy, precedent, or standard procedures, most of the work has to be planned and supervised by the service representative based on actual site requirements.


    Internal contacts include: all levels of management and assigned employees in Field Service Operations, Repair Shop Operations, Service Parts Operations, Technical Service, Rerates and Modifications, Aftermarket Sales, Finance/Accounting, Legal/Contract Administration, EHS.


    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred plus 5 - 10 years’ experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Supervisory skills.
    • Must be willing to travel domestically an internationally.
    • Must have or be able to obtain a passport and a TWIC card.
