  • Overview

    The Project Engineering and Drafting Analyst assists management in tracking order execution status, identifies drawing and documentation delaying engineering and design of Elliott systems, expedites internal and external suppliers for critical information, monitors task completion of drafting and engineering resources and directly assist the management team with finalization of project schedules.

     

    The Project Analyst is also responsible for developing and maintaining metrics related to project engineering and drafting execution, including but not limited to: status updates of departmental progress, budget and forecasting hours by job and sub-department, critical revision zero issuance, NCR and ECN data, and RFQ/PRL creation.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for consolidating and analyzing project schedule status, drawing and documentation deliverables, and creating accurate progress status reports for distribution to management.
    • Assist departmental leads, Supervisors and Manager with planning and scheduling workload to meet manufacturing and customer expectations.
    • Provides weekly status updates related to order execution for both Project Engineering and Master Design Supervisors.
    • Monitors specific information flowing between Project Engineering and Drafting to prevent delays in the design and manufacturing process of Elliott systems.
    • Will interface with department and functional areas outside of Project Engineering and Drafting including: Unit Drafting and Engineering, Purchasing, Project Planning, Production Control and Project Management.
    • Assist Project Engineers on an as-needed basis with activities related to customer visits for inspections, Hazop meetings, and critical witness points.
    • Establish, track and distribute metrics for on time performance.
    • Audit project execution activities and adherence to departmental work instructions and report findings to management.
    • Compile, organize data required to perform project lessons learned meetings upon order shipment.
    • Assist Supervisors in the completion of projects by finalizing customer documentation on an as needed basis, typically required on specific high specification orders.
    • Process PRL’s, ECN’s, NCR’s and other administrative tasks to ensure order execution stays on track.
    • Creates shop order BOM structure within Elliott’s PLM system (Windchill).

    Qualifications

    • Associate degree in a technical, science or business field is required; Bachelor degree preferred.
    • Ability to learn Project Engineering and Master Design order execution techniques for complex projects and provide insight to drive improvement of the current processes (ex. resource/task allocation, scheduling, etc.)
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Knowledge of the Elliott product line with basic knowledge of engineering and drafting processes.
    • Experience with report creation/compiling, editing and review.
    • Proactive planning skills to analyze information from reports and meetings to determine how information will affect order execution and internal commitments.
    • Proficiency with project planning and basic spreadsheet and composition software (i.e. Excel, Word, MS Project).
    • The willingness and ability to learn and utilize computer software programs such as Windchill, Oracle, PRoE Creo, etc.
    • Experience executing process improvement initiatives and attaining long-term goals.
